Under the Act respecting collective agreement decrees (R.S.Q., c. D-2), the Parity Committee for Security Guards is responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with the working conditions set out in the decree.

If you believe that your employer has not paid you all the amounts due to you under the decree, you can file a complaint with the Parity Committee. The Parity Committee will process your file and follow up on it.

MAIN STEPS FOLLOWING THE RECEIPT OF YOUR WAGE COMPLAINT

Within the following days of receiving your wage complaint, you will receive a letter confirming that it has been filed. In order for your wage complaint to be filed, you must identify yourself (Section 1 of the form), identify your employer (Section 2 of the form) and specify the items you are claiming along with the time period covered by your complaint (Section 3 of the form).

As soon as we receive your complaint, the process is initiated. The inspector assigned to your complaint will begin the analysis of the file and will contact you within the following days of the assignment. Throughout the process, the inspector assigned to your complaint may contact you to ensure that your file is handled properly.

DETAILS ON PROCESSING TIMES

The processing time may vary depending on your level of cooperation and that of the employer concerned. If applicable, additional time may be required before you receive the amounts claimed, particularly if your file is subject to legal recourse.

INFORMATION ON SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

Depending on the nature of the items claimed, you must provide, to the extent possible, supporting documents relating to the period covered by your complaint (pay slips, work schedules, termination documents, invoices, etc.)

PRESCRIPTION

In order for an employee to be eligible to receive compensation for lost wages, the complaint must be received at the Parity Committee within one year of the date your employer should have paid you.

Due to the high volume of complaints to be processed by the Parity Committee concerning non-compliance with the provisions of the Decree, the delay to open a file is currently 30 to 60 days

This form is intended for any employer who believes that a person or company is not complying with the provisions of the Decree respecting Security Guards and who wishes to report this to the Parity Committee for security guards.

CONFIDENTIALITY

The personal information transmitted to the Parity Committee for security guards by means of this form is confidential, in accordance with the provisions of the Act respecting access to documents held by private bodies and the protection of personal information. Only duly authorized persons within the Parity Committee for security guards will have access to this information in the course of their duties and solely for the purposes of their investigation.

Rest assured that your denunciation will be processed and that the necessary verifications will be made. However, for reasons of confidentiality, the Parity Committee cannot follow up with the complainant on the steps taken in the course of its investigations. Nor can it guarantee the timeframe within which the report will be processed.

In its declaration of services, the Parity Committee presents its values and commits itself by various means to ensuring the satisfaction of its clientele with respect to the services it offers. If you are dissatisfied with the services received by the Parity Committee or by one of its representatives and wish to file a complaint with the Parity Committee concerning the quality of the services received, we invite you to complete this form.

HOW TO FILE A COMPLAINT TO THE PARITY COMMITTEE

To submit a complaint to the Parity Committee, you must duly complete all sections of this electronic form and submit it.

COMMITMENTS REGARDING THE HANDLING OF YOUR COMPLAINT TO THE PARITY COMMITTEE

Complaints received are analyzed rigorously, impartially and confidentially in accordance with our service statement. Within 10 working days of receiving your complaint to the Parity Committee, you will receive a letter confirming receipt of your complaint and the progress of the process. If, at the end of this process, you are still dissatisfied with the services received and feel that your file has not been handled in a fair and equitable manner, the file may be transferred to another authority depending on the point of dispute.
