There are benefits to always being available.
The Decree states that by October 31st of each year, your employer must establish the classification for which you qualify.
To do so, they must evaluate whether you offer availability 7 days a week, during the day, evening and night, up to a maximum of 40 hours of work per week. If so, they must calculate the average hours worked since Novembrer 1st of the previous year. If you have worked an average of more than 30 hours per week, you qualify for classification A01.
Here are the benefits associated with classification A01:
- $ 0.20/hour RRSP
- Sick leave bank
- Overtime after the 6th consecutive day of work and beyond
- Annual renewal of uniforms with new clothing
Please note that some benefits may be withdrawn during the year if you do not maintain full availability for your employer.
